If I shot someone 21 minutes ago but have to safespot for whatever reason, I can safely do so under the assumption my ship does not hang out for 30 minutes?
Is this affected by the current bug where gang members aren't flagged for aggression?

Originally by: Skillshot Again more stupid rules to force those that dont like nor want to pvp to be forced to even though they are paying customers ccp and the devs are basiclly saying we dont care if you do pay the monthly fee your going to play the way we tell you no matter what.. ok so now you have catered to the pirats, now youhave caterd to the pirates again, so when are you gonna make fireing weapons in empire imposable.. that amounts to about the same thing that your doing with the log off timer.
Ahhhh but a lot of pirates will suffer just as equally under these rules

Riddari relax, seriously, just unplug your computer and chill. Its just a game, yet you take things like a raven is about to land on the roof of your house.
If you don't like the game, don't play. Its as simple as that. Why troll the devs? Just leave, Im sure someones 2nd (or even 3rd) account will make up for you and contribute more positively on the forums.
Its a game, remember that and don't get so wound up.
His point is that to many, the game is being bound too tightly by availability of time. This seriously affects the casual gamer or the long-term gamer who suffers a change of circumstances.

Edited by: Joshua Calvert on 17/06/2005 06:24:30 So we now are forced to wait 30 minutes until we can log into one of our alt accounts then?

Who cares about the stupid 30 minute timer when you can bypass it by logging on your alt who is on the same account? FFS people.
AFAIK, That's an exploit.
Besides, the time it takes for Eve to reload (thanks for getting rid of the option to goto the login screen), connect, authenticate, load the character screen, select a character and then do its unit getting or whatever it does.. the 30 minute timer probably would have expired.
Why would I do that if I can fly around for 30 minutes on my main and log off without using an exploit? Oh yeh, because I've had to leave my computer and do something in real life. Not because I'm scared of losing a ship.
It's not FEAR of losing a ship that causes this uproar. It's the fact that any r/t interruption now seems a guarentee to lose your ship. Safespot-scanning is a very commonly used thing these days and 30 mins is long enoguh to find 90% of SS.
Why should 99% of PVP'ers suffer for the actions of the remaining 1%?

Morning Josh
I've refined my position from yesterday a bit, down to this:
The logoff timer will not help the game because if you are actually playing the game it means nothing. You just warp around until it expires.
The _ONLY_ people this timer actually affects are people that must go entirely AFK and have no hope of trying to prevent their shpi/pod from being found.
Theres not a single other situation where this timer willl actually make the game better. People screaming about so called log out tactics just don't get it. The reason a group of players logs out in enemy territory is because they are outnumbered (in most cases). While outnumbered that group of players can't do anything in game anyhow, so spending 30 minutes warping around doing nothing doesn't change a single thing.
30 minute logoff timer is just a bad idea.
Quoted for truth.
I can't believe how spot on that statement is, mahhy. This change only affects those who go AFK or suffer an untimely real-life interruption. It has no affect on those wanting to log-off deep in enemy space except to delay that inevitable action with 30 minutes of warping between safespots.
All you're doing is doubling the number of SS in key systems, really.

Any further word on the Devs thoughts on the length of this timer?
